CONSOB resolves to temporarily prohibit short selling of BPM shares


The temporary prohibition of short selling in shares issued by Banca Popolare di Milano scarl (BPM) by La Commissione Nazionale per le Societa e la Borsa is pursuant to Article 23 of the EU Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council.

CONSOB resolved on the prohibition of short selling in BPM shares on the MTA, a regulated market organised and managed by Borsa Italiana S.p.A., taking effect from 13.15 CET of 14 April 2014 to the end of the trading day of 15 April 2014.

It is clarified that, pursuant to Article 23(3), the above-mentioned prohibition does not apply to the activity of market making, as defined by the aforementioned Regulation.

This resolution is transmitted to ESMA and published on the Consob website..
