The European Banking Federation (FBE) stresses among others to take into account the existence of two different criteria for identifying mortgage credits and credits for private consumption in the Member States. Therefore, the Commission needs to encompass both notions in order to reflect the current structure of the market. The definition of cross-border lending should also include mergers and acquisitions as a way to perform cross-border lending.
