Brief Opinions/Commentaries

The GrahamBishop.com system has one objective: to disseminate factual “news” about the influences on regulation of financial services in the EU. It is now clear that a wide ranging review of regulation in all sectors is underway and the details will develop over many years. But there will be a much wider range of inputs than in the past – both geographically (G20), by industry and by social function (user, supplier, supervisor, regulator etc). The range is likely to be so vast that there is a need for expert interpretation of the “news”.

So we have added a “Brief Opinion/Commentaries” category to our website – with occasional contributions from experts in their own field. These Briefs will be short enough to be read by a busy senior executive in five minutes as they will run to no more than 2000 words. However, there will be the capacity to links to the articles in our knowledge centre so the reader can drill down to the full detail if they wish.  But the main purpose will be to inform a senior executive about the essence of the subject and the implications for their business. A firm's own EU Affairs department can add comment to make the article extremely specific to that firm.

The debate about financial reform is influenced by the ideas coming up from a wide array of leading Think Tanks and officials so we are now showcasing their articles.

(Separately, we will roll out our Blogger service in 2010 where the comments will be a rifle shot at a specific issue – and short enough to read in one minute as they will only be a maximum of 200 words.)
