Ruth Taplin

PROFESSOR RUTH TAPLIN:
The Director of the Centre for Japanese and East Asian Studies - which won Exporter of the Year in Partnership in Trading/Pathfinder for the UK in 2000 - Professor Taplin, is the author of fourteen books and over two hundred articles on East Asia.  A former journalist for The Times for nine years, covering Japan, Taiwan and Korea, she is also an experienced Japanese, Chinese and Korean translator in the financial sector.  Professor Taplin achieved her doctorate at the London School of Economics, having initially studied Japanese at Durham University. Her most recent work is Decision-making and Japan – A Study of Japanese decision-making and its relevance to Western companies.
