In the course of the worst crisis in the history of the finances, the defaults of asset-backed securities was equal to 16 billion euro out of 1 868 billion in circulation. The percentage of 0,86% of total is rather high compared to 0,01% in the period of 2004-2007, but relatively low compared to 6,96% of defaults on American securitisations in 2007-2010 period.
