AMF - Regulation and Asset Management Newsletter No11

21 October 2009

AMF Newsletter No 11 addresses the IOSCO’s standing committee on investment management, the work of the European Union on fund depositaries and the AMF asset management round-up. It also covers Q&A with Jacques Delmas on key investor documents.

In the Editorial, Edouard Vieillefond writes about the global current situation in financial services issues. He alludes to the one-year anniversary of Lehman Brothers and how things have changed since then. He notes that the protections afforded to savers across the European Union vary from country to country. In some cases, investors are suffering the consequences of a regulatory race to the bottom. AMF is particularly active within European rule-making bodies in defending investor protection through tighter regulation of investment products and the firms which supply them.
