Meanwhile the Tory party led by Jeremy Hunt would leave Labour with the largest number of MPs - even though a larger number of people polled thought he would be the better Prime Minister.
The ComRes poll, commissioned by the Telegraph, puts the Tories with 345 MPs with Labour at 207 and the Brexit Party at none if Mr Johnson were to win the race.
