ESMA updates list of recognised third-country CCPs

The European Securities and Markets Authority has updated its list of recognised central counterparties based in third countries. This update concerns the recognition of the US Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME).

The central counterparties (CCPs) established in a third country listed have been recognised to offer services and activities in the Union in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 648/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 4 July 2012 on OTC derivatives, central counterparties and trade repositories (EMIR).
