EFBS statement on EP vote on Mortgage Credit

EFBS issued its reaction on the EP vote on the report of Mr Purvis on Mortgage Credit and regards the vote as one against EU-Regulations on Mortgage Credit. „The Commission cannot prescribe an Internal Market by harmonising the consumer protection laws”, states Mr Zehnder, Managing Director of the EFBS. “The Parliament has clarified that home loans which are secured by mortgages are depending very strongly on national characteristics”, he added.
