CEA, EBF and EFAMA voice VAT concerns

24 October 2011

The associations urge the Council to finalise the Directive and the Regulation as soon as possible, in order to provide businesses with the required legal certainty.

The CEA, the European Banking Federation (EBF) and the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) wrote to the Polish EU Presidency to reiterate their concerns about the current debate in the Council on the VAT treatment of financial and insurance services.

The comments were sent ahead of the high-level Council working party on taxation on 26 October, and focus on issues such as a VAT outsourcing exemption and an explicit exemption the transfer of (re)insurance contracts.
