Council recommends the nomination of Peter Praet to the executive board of the ECB

The Council adopted a recommendation on the nomination of Peter Praet (Belgium) to succeed Gertrude Tumpel-Gugerell, whose term of office expires on 31 May.
The Council's recommendation will be submitted to the European Council, after consulting the European Parliament and the ECB's governing council, so as to enable it to take a decision at its meeting on 24 and 25 March.
