EFRAG initial assessment of the costs and benefits of IFRIC 13

EFRAG issued for comment its initial assessment of the costs and benefits of IFRIC 13 Customer Loyalty Programmes. EFRAG’s overall initial assessment of the costs and benefits is that, although the incremental costs of applying IFRIC 13 may be significant for some companies, when viewed as a whole the benefits derived from applying IFRIC 13 seem likely to outweigh the costs that will arise from its implementation.  EFRAG has also concluded that further consultation with individual entities on certain specific issues is necessary.

Deadline for comments is 14 April 2008.
