ICMA Quarterly Report Second Quarter 2021

The Quarterly Assessment covers the post-Brexit impact on the international bond market, and there are separate features on the post-Brexit impact on the primary markets, the secondary and repo markets, and asset management, respectively.

ICMA’s Quarterly Report for the Second Quarter of 2021 begins with a Foreword by Marc Lewell of J.P. Morgan on ICMA as a hub for the industry. Martin Scheck, ICMA’s Chief Executive, writes about ICMA’s packed agenda in 2021.

Other features consider: breaking down risks in the asset management industry; a European Financial Transaction Tax?; Asian international bond markets; the internationalisation of the China corporate bond market; Bank of China’s pioneering issue of bonds applying the Climate Transition Finance Handbook; and the potential of sukuk for a green and resilient recovery. The Quarterly Report also covers ICMA’s market practice and regulatory policy work in the primary markets, secondary markets, repo and collateral markets, short-term markets, sustainable finance, asset management, FinTech, the transition from LIBOR to risk-free rates, and capital market developments in China.
