CESR updates MiFID Market Transparency Database

CESR published an update of the database on MiFID Market Transparency. The information included in this database allows market participants to recognise liquid shares and to determine the block sizes for waivers from pre-trade transparency requirements and delayed post-trade publication.

The database incorporates three categories of changes:

- Correcting existing entries

- Adding new shares which have been admitted to trading after 1 April 2007;

- Deleting shares which have been de-listed since the first publication.

From 1 November 2007, the list will be updated regularly based on the data provided by CESR’s members.

CESR will undertake a public consultation on the potential changes and explore whether this database could be useful to solve a number of practical issues linked to the application of the Transparency Directive. A consultation document will be published in the beginning of November for a one moth consultation period.

The new functionalities will be available for the March 2008 annual revision.
