Committee chairs will have until 18 September to give the Conference of Presidents (the group leaders) their questionnaires for the nominees. The nominees will have until 26 September to respond with written answers, and hearings are expected to get under way on Monday 29 September.

The hearings are expected to last two weeks, ending on 9 October. However, they might not be finished until 16 October if there is any problem with one or more of the nominees. A final confirmation vote would take place during the October plenary session, most likely on 21 October.
