CESR progress report on Credit Rating Agencies

CESR published a list of questions that has been submitted to the four Credit Rating Agencies asking for additional information.

The questions deal mainly with the following areas of the structured finance market:

- Transparency of rating methodologies;

- Human resources allocated to rating and monitoring;

- Periodic monitoring of the ratings;

- Methodology changes;

- Potential conflicts of interest.

The responses to these questions will be made public and will constitute a main input for CESR’s 2007 report.

Written responses have been requested by the end of November.
